Vaani Kapoor Speaks Out on Delhi’s Rising Pollution

Actress Vaani Kapoor has expressed deep concern over Delhi’s dangerously high Air Quality Index (AQI), which reached 447 a day after Diwali celebrations. Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, the actress urged everyone to find ways to celebrate festivals without polluting the air we breathe.

She wrote, “Woke up to Delhi’s AQI touching 447, one of the highest in the world today. Maybe next year, we find a way to celebrate without dimming the air we breathe.”

Her message has sparked conversations online about the need for cleaner, more sustainable celebrations in India’s capital city.

A Plea for Cleaner and Greener Festivities

As the post-Diwali smog once again shrouded Delhi, Vaani Kapoor joined several public figures in highlighting the urgent need for eco-friendly celebrations.

The actress emphasized that joy and tradition should not come at the cost of public health and environmental damage. Her heartfelt message encouraged citizens to choose green firecrackers, minimal smoke displays, and eco-conscious alternatives to keep the air safe for everyone.

Vaani Kapoor’s Recent Work and Career Highlights

Earlier this year, Vaani Kapoor made her OTT debut with Mandala Murders, a psychological thriller inspired by the novel The Butcher of Benares.

The series blends mystery, supernatural horror, and crime investigation, following detectives Rea Thomas and Vikram Singh as they uncover ritualistic murders tied to a secret cult. The show stars Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Surveen Chawla, Raghubir Yadav, and Shriya Pilgaonkar in key roles.

Upcoming Project: Badtameez Gill

Vaani will next appear in Badtameez Gill, directed by Navjot Gulati, alongside Aparshakti Khurana, Paresh Rawal, Sheeba Chaddha, Richard Bhakti Klein, and Monica Chaudhary.

The film promises to showcase Vaani in a refreshing new role, expanding her growing list of diverse performances.

Vaani Kapoor’s Bollywood Journey

The 37-year-old actress made her Bollywood debut in 2013 with Shuddh Desi Romance opposite Sushant Singh Rajput and Parineeti Chopra.

She later starred in the Tamil remake Aaha Kalyanam and appeared in Befikre opposite Ranveer Singh. Although the film didn’t perform well, it boosted her recognition for her charm and bold screen presence.

Her major success came with War (2019), co-starring Hrithik Roshan, followed by Bell Bottom (2021) with Akshay Kumar and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, where she earned praise for portraying a transgender woman.

She later appeared in Shamshera opposite Ranbir Kapoor, Khel Khel Mein, and most recently in Raid 2 (2025) alongside Ajay Devgn, marking her first big box-office hit since War.

A Call for Change

With her recent statement, Vaani Kapoor joins a growing number of celebrities using their voice for environmental awareness. Her post serves as a reminder that festivals should celebrate light, not pollution — and that true festivity lies in protecting our planet for the generations to come.
