In a statement shared via social media, the Chief Minister also expressed his congratulations to the winners of other significant awards announced by the Government of Assam.
“These prestigious awards celebrate the immense contributions of the recipients to Assam’s socio-cultural heritage,” Sarma remarked, emphasizing the state government’s ongoing efforts to recognize those who have enriched Assam’s culture and legacy.
On January 5, Cultural Affairs Minister Bimal Borah announced that playback singer Anima Choudhury and folk singer Mukul Rabha would receive this year’s Silpi Award. In addition, actress Reba Phukan will be presented with the Nat Surya Phani Sharma Award 2024, while actress Hira Neog will be honored with the Sahityasarjya Atul Chandra Hazarika Award. Jaleswar Brahma, a social worker, will receive the Bhimbor Deori Award.
